Course Overview

Embark on a transformative journey with APU University Malaysia Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Animation program. Explore a myriad of invaluable insights and skills, detailed below: In the first year, students will gain a solid foundation in animation and design skills, with a specific focus on the animation field. They will explore various animation techniques, including 2D traditional and computer-generated (CG) animation, allowing them to develop a thorough understanding of the fundamentals in the creative industry. Moving into the second year, delves deeper into the development of animated content, placing a strong emphasis on critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Students will engage in character creation, character performance, motion design, rigging, effects, and simulation. They will also have the opportunity to gain practical production experience through industrial training, providing them with valuable insights into the industry. During the 16-week internship or industrial training, students will undertake practical training in an industrial setting. This internship experience is designed to facilitate a seamless transition from the classroom to the professional working environment. Students will gain hands-on experience, develop industry-specific skills, and acquire valuable insights into real-world animation practices. In the third year, students will specialize in their area of interest in animation and produce a series of animation projects that showcase their talent and ability to work effectively in a team. The focus will be on professional practice, preparing students for graduation, and enhancing their employment prospects in the animation industry. Students who joined the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Animation at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year.
