Course Overview

Embark on a transformative journey with APU University Malaysia Bachelor (Hons)  in Business Management with a specialism in Digital Leadership program. Explore a myriad of invaluable insights and skills, detailed below: In the first year, students will gain a basic understanding of the context within which businesses operate. They will study subjects such as management, law, accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, and marketing. Additionally, students will develop essential business and communication skills, computing and IT skills, quantitative skills, and the ability to engage in independent learning. The common first year ensures that students receive a solid grounding in business management theories and practices, setting a strong foundation for their future studies. Moving into the second year, builds upon the foundational knowledge acquired in the first year and exposes students to a more advanced curriculum. The focus is on understanding how digital technologies and business models are transforming competitive dynamics across industries. Students will develop a deep insight into digitalization and its impact on various aspects of business. They will also gain in-depth understanding of functional management in different areas. Through the use of industry-leading software supported by SAP, students will further enhance their understanding of core business processes. Independent learning will continue to be nurtured to prepare students for the evolving digital workplace. During the 16-week internship or industrial training students are provided with practical exposure to the working environment which helps them make a smooth transition from the classroom to the professional world. It allows students to apply their knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and develop valuable skills that are relevant to their chosen field of study. In the third year, students will leverage their previous studies and industrial experience to delve deeper into the practical and current issues related to digitalization in the business world. They will develop a solid understanding of the contemporary phenomena of digitalization, learn mechanisms for analyzing its implications, and explore solutions to navigate change in complex environments. A final year project will require students to explore a specific topic individually, allowing them to demonstrate their academic and practical abilities in their chosen area of study. Students who joined the Bachelor (Hons)  in Business Management with a specialism in Digital Leadership at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year.
