Course Overview

Architectural Technology is a relatively new discipline in Malaysia, grounded in the application of science, engineering, and technology, and closely aligned with industry practices. MAHSA University is set to be the pioneering institution in Malaysia to offer a program titled "Bachelor of Architectural Technology," which incorporates Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Green Technology. The industry increasingly recognizes the importance of Architectural Technology as essential in the digital age, emphasizing the empirically-based digitalization of design and construction through Building Information Modeling. This approach focuses on production, performance, environmental sustainability, and economic efficiency. The role of the Architectural Technologist has evolved from that of a mere "technician" to that of a "building specialist." These professionals now contribute to construction teams as specialist designers, leveraging their unique expertise in building performance, production, and processes. Looking ahead, BIM and Green Technology will serve as the frameworks for organizing and generating architectural technology information, enhancing efficiency and building management. This program aims to equip students with advanced computer applications, knowledge of the Green Building Index, hands-on training, and opportunities to engage in industrial projects, preparing them to become future Architectural Technologists.
