MAHSA University is the abbreviation of Malaysia United Health Sciences Research Institute, founded in 2004 by Professor Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa (Mohamed Haniffa) the Prime Minister and the Executive Chairman of MAHSA Group. Professor Haniffa is a medical clinician. His vision involves the establishment of outstanding academic excellence in the fields of medicine, biological sciences, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, business, finance, hotel management, information technology, and engineering in Southeast Asia. Entering the second decade of the 21st century, MAHSA University envisions leading research and innovation in its field of expertise, which is driven by the needs and capabilities of IR4.0, as indicated by the results of its past research programs.

Course Overview
MAHSA University’s Diploma in Environmental Health is a comprehensive three-year program designed for students who have completed their SPM or its equivalent. This course is tailored for individuals interested in health and environmental issues. Students will explore the importance of preventing the transmission of infectious diseases caused by physical, biological, cultural, and socio-environmental factors. They will also discuss the necessity of good sanitation, preventive measures, and remedial actions. The Diploma in Environmental Health at MAHSA is an engaging program that examines human activities and their impact on the quality of life. Students will learn to make scientific observations based on empirical evidence and logical reasoning, allowing them to formulate their own conclusions and solutions to contemporary environmental challenges. Key topics include health issues, the body’s response to environmental pollutants, physical, chemical, and biological agents of contamination, the release of pollutants in solid, liquid, and gaseous forms, types of hazardous waste, vulnerable populations, risk analysis, and the scientific foundations of decision-making, as well as emerging global environmental health concerns. Upon completing the program, students will possess a solid understanding of relevant scientific principles and auxiliary services, including legal frameworks, codes of practice and ethics, and effective communication skills.
